“I was drawn to AOD (Alcohol & Other Drugs) Nursing because of my own personal experiences and that of many people close to me”.

With well over a decade in the health and hospital sector, Rebecca brings a wealth of experience to her role at Arrow Health. She has worked as a Nurse, Unit Manager, Senior Nurse Advisor, Health Services Manager and Residential Withdrawal Services Manager for organisations spanning hospitals to the Department of Health & Human Services, Parkville Youth Justice to Youth Support & Advocacy Service (YSAS).

Rebecca believes “everyone deserves a second chance, they deserve to have someone walk by their side in their darkest hour. Doing bad things does not make someone a bad person and I always strive to look through the darkness to see people as they are without all the noise.”

Having witnessed substandard levels of care due to a lack of understanding and fear from service providers in regards to addiction; Rebecca developed a deep empathy and compassion for patients irrespective of their history.

“Working at Arrow Health gives me the opportunity to make a contribution to the lives of some of our most vulnerable people.”

When not at work, Rebecca loves travelling, camping, dirt bike riding and is a self-confessed ‘mad book lover’. She also has three children and her family is her world.
